WHAT IS CANNABIDIOL (CBD)?
C.B.D. actually stands for Cannabidiol.
Cannabidiol is derived from a compound extracted from the Hemp plant itself.
“It is one of 113 identified cannabinoids in cannabis plants and accounts for up to 40% of the plant’s extract.” Wikipedia
As I am sure you have seen, there has been a tremendous boom in the use of hemp due to its natural therapeutic properties without the complications from the Pharmaceutical market and is often more affordable than man made products.
Giving natural remedies a real shot at helping people feel their best.
It’s a powerful force in helping humans and even in more recent years … peoples beloved pets with their health.
Hemp or the scientific name for Hemp (Cannabis Sativa), is a member of the Cannabaceae plant family. Cannabidiol (CBD) is the fastest trending and newest breakthrough in the Cannabis plant, giving people results without the “High” traditionally tied to this plant. As popular as CBD is, it is just one of over 100+ natural plant compounds contained in cannabis.
So Cannabidiol is the main active ingredient in popular CBD products.
This means that this powerful natural extract from Hemp, is what companies use to create oils, capsules, edibles, infused skincare and much more.
If it’s so good where has this been in modern history?
In as recent as the 1990’s, a Professor named Raphael Mechoulam discovered and documented his research with cannabis, creating the Endocannabinoid System or (ECS).
Before Mechoulam took a real focus on the specific properties of the Cannabis plant. Scientists in the 1940’s looked right by it and are documented to have not seen any real significance in CBD and thought it to have no real benefits to the human body.
Because of Mechoulam’s studies he is often considered as the Grandfather of the Cannabis movement.
These days however, It is commonplace in the scientific community that the compound cannabidiol has potential or even a track record to keep balance in the cells, by latching to or interacting with your internal endocannabinoid system. This is everything because “how you feel” matters.
Your internal responses from pain, along with sleeping quality (REM Cycle), how fast you fall asleep, immune system response, and even your appetite are helped managed by your own endocannabinoid system.
There are no two exact responses after CBD is ingested.
But trends are showing that people would rather find out for themselves.
